Course Details

Objectives 

The Post-graduate Program covers the fields of Public Economics and Policy. Its basic purpose is to provide post-graduate education to University and T.E.I. graduates that will enable them to face the increased requirements of the labor market, in addition to delving into the above-mentioned subjects at a theoretical level. The promotion of Management with applications in Public Finance Policy constitutes also an important goal of this Post-graduate Program.

The Post-graduate Program seeks to promote scientific knowledge and research in the light of the country's development needs. In the long term, it focuses on training scientists capable of contributing to the production, the transmission and the application of specialized knowledge and skills needed in the society today.

The individual courses of the program analyze the concepts of Public Administration, Public Governance, Administrative Law, Financial and Tax Policy. Issues about Economic Integration of the European Union are developed, within which the Greek economy functions and takes place in the society. Issues such as the Personnel Evaluation, Total Quality Management, evaluation of Investment Projects and understanding the human rights under the European Law are parts of the context of the Master's program. The research seminar and post-graduate thesis complete the initiation effort in research.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the program students will be able to:

  • Analyze the current fiscal problem structure.
  • Understand the complexity of the problems created by the EMU, the Maastricht Treaty and the current economic and political developments.
  • Use methods for the promotion of Public Administration and Governance.
  • Prepare, comment and present data they have designed and collected themselves.
  • Approach with professionalism rules and values ​​that govern Public Economics and Policy. 
  • Describe the main principles that prevail in Public Administration both in Greece and Europe.
  • Resolve issues using data they collected themselves or secondarily gathered from the Greek and international data sources.
  • Analyze the current approaches to leadership issues.
